J.E. Heartbreak - Jagged Edge
J.E. Heartbreak

J.E. Heartbreak is Jagged Edge’s sophomore album and the follow up to October 1997’s A Jagged Era. The album is the group’s best-selling album of their illustrious 25-year career, being certified 2x Platinum. It also marks their first #1 album on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Speaking to VIBE Magazine in 2000, the group revealed that the album’s title pays homage to New Edition’s June 1988 album, Heartbreak, in an attempt to become the 2000s defining R&B group, alike New Edition in the ‘80s. J.E. Heartbreak spawned four singles, two ahead of the album’s release: “Keys to the Range,” which failed to chart on the Hot 100 chart, but peaked at #39 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and “He Can’t Love U” which peaked at #15 on the Hot 100 chart. “Let’s Get Married” and “Promise” were released as the final two singles from the album, peaking at #11 and #9 respectively on the Hot 100 chart.
