I'm Ready - Tevin Campbell
I'm Ready

Following the success of his 1991 platinum debut album, T.E.V.I.N, Tevin Campbell released his sophomore album I’m Ready in 1993 through Quincy Jones‘ Qwest Records. The album peaked at #18 on the Billboard 200 chart, RIAA-certified double platinum in the US, and was nominated for a “Best R&B Album” Grammy Award in 1995. The album’s opener, “Can We Talk”, has become Tevin’s signature song. The single topped Billboard’s R&B Singles chart and peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart. It was also nominated for a “Best Male R&B Vocal Performance” Grammy Award in 1994, while the album’s third single, “I’m Ready”, was nominated in the same category the following year. Both songs, as well as the album’s fourth single, “Always in My Heart”, were written and produced by Babyface and Daryl Simmons. “Don’t Say Goodbye Girl”, “Brown Eyed Girl”, and the Prince-produced “Shhh” were also released as singles.
