Donna Summer is the tenth album and first self-titled album by singer-songwriter Donna Summer, released on July 19, 1982, via Geffen Records. The album was produced by Quincy Jones, marking her first album not produced by Giorgio Moroder or Pete Bellotte. In 2014, an expanded edition of the album was released, featuring the original album tracks, as well as five remixes and an instrumental. A total of four singles were released from the album: “Love Is in Control (Finger on the Trigger),” “State of Independence” and “The Woman in Me” were released internationally, where “Protection” was only released in Japan.
