The album features cover versions from the first nine episodes of the first season and was released on November 3, 2009 via Columbia Records and 20th Century Fox Television Records. The soundtrack debuted and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200, selling 113,000 copies in its first week of release. The debut single “Don’t Stop Believin'” became the highest charting Glee single to date, peaking at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. As of 2015, the song has sold a total of 1,422,000 million copies.
