Initially titled We Salute You, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Covers EP consists of six cover songs originally written and recorded by previous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. These artists have all been credited as influences for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who released the EP digitally to commemorate their own Hall of Fame induction in 2012. The songs included on this compilation album were previously featured on other RHCP releases, and either recorded live or in the studio. “Teenager in Love,” “Search and Destroy,” and “Suffragette City” were released as B-Sides, “I Get Around” was released as a DVD live performance from Brian Wilson’s 2005 MusiCares celebration, “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere” was included on an official I’m With You tour bootleg, and “Havana Affair” appeared on a Ramones tribute album and as an iTunes bonus track for Stadium Arcadium.
