Kitchen Cutlery is Earl Sweatshirt’s first mixtape and was put together when he was known as “Sly Tendencies”. This mixtape consists of songs posted to Earl’s myspace between 2007-2009. Some of the tracks became unavailable online, and didn’t leak until 2011. The mixtape gave Earl some recognition and got the attention of Tyler, the Creator. When Tyler and Earl found out they didn’t live too far away from each other, Tyler invited Earl to hang out, skate, and eventually to join the hip-hop group known as Odd Future. This mixtape and a lot of Earl’s other tracks from this time were heavily inspired by MF DOOM.
