The Origin of Love is Mika’s third studio album, and marks a shift in the tone of his discography. Comparing it to his previous album, 2009’s The Boy Who Knew Too Much, Mika described the album as “more simplistic pop, less layered than the last one”. “It’s a serious album, but still has the boppy, happy tunes.” The album was released on 17 September 2012.
