Better Dayz is 2Pac’s eighth studio album, and fourth released posthumously. The album was released on November 26, 2002 to commercial acclaim, selling 366,000 copies in its first week and peaking at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart. It is regarded by some critics and fans alike as one of Tupac’s best posthumous releases.
Like the previous double album Until the End of Time, this release features songs recorded during the All Eyez On Me and Makaveli sessions but remixed for this release. This album was supported by a remix of “Still Ballin'” featuring Trick Daddy and two versions of “Thugz Mansion,” one featuring singer Anthony Hamilton and the other featuring Nas.
It features guest collaborations from Boot Camp Clik and Smif-n-Wessun (credited as Cocoa Brovaz) members Tek (Tekomin Williams), Steele (Darrell Yates) and Buckshot (Kenyatta Blake) featured on “Military Minds” and the original version of “Never Call U Bitch Again” that was slated for the collaborative LP, One Nation that was uncompleted and never released due to Shakur’s untimely death.
The album features additional appearances by Outlawz, Jazze Pha, Johntá Austin, T.I., Kimma Hill, J. Phoenix, Ron Isley and Mya.
