After a lengthy hiatus following his 2016 cult-classic debut Adonis XIV, Texas-based artist Jonny Jukebox returned in 2022 with his second full-length project, U > EVERYTHING ELSE. Across 15 tracks, Jonny blends reflective storytelling with genre-bending production, moving fluidly through R&B, trap, pop, rock, and alternative sounds. The project chronicles the emotional arc of escaping toxic relationships—romantic, platonic, and self-inflicted—toward a place of self-love and healthier connections. Production is a key part of the narrative: Jonny recruits emerging voices like Bay Area’s Tokyo Yens (“TROLL PATROL,” “TETRIS,” “BETTERTHANDRUGS,” “ARK”), rising Austin duo 10PMTOCLOSE (“OLD ME”), experimental talents like Denzel Stone and Lejon Lewis. He also taps into heavyweight credentials with Multi-Platinum producer ALEGAL (“NO FAVORS”), known for work with Rick Ross and Nipsey Hussle and SXLXMXN . Along with features from The Teeta, KNDRX, Magna Carda, Pleasure Venom and more the project cements Jonny as one R&B’s music boldest and eccentric storytellers. The result is an album that sandwiches indie authenticity with mainstream polish, weaving voicemails, interludes, and vivid lyricism into his known cinematic video game–inspired journey of heartbreak, resilience, and renewal.
