MUDBOY is Sheck Wes’ debut studio album. The album’s title is an allusion to Sheck’s somewhat unfavorable upbringing. Sheck discreetly announced the album’s release date in an Instagram post featuring friend and song inspiration Mohamed Bamba. The album’s lead single, “Mo Bamba,” was released on June 16, 2017. The song rose significantly in popularity in mid-2018. In addition to “Mo Bamba,” MUDBOY was led by the singles “Live Sheck Wes” and “Chippi Chippi.” Promotional singles such as “Do That” and “Niggas Ain’t Close” were not included on the album.
