After being originally released on SoundCloud on April 23, 2018, Ugly God re-released the EP on all streaming platforms on June 1, 2018. Before its release, the EP was jokingly marketed as a “country music EP.” He announced its existence on Twitter on April 22, 2018, when he told his followers that he would release the EP if he received 20,000 retweets. just a lil something before the album… is Ugly God’s first project since The Booty Tape, his August 2017 debut mixtape. Splash Drexler is the EP’s sole feature, appearing on “Leave a Tip.” Production is handled by Nikko Bunkin, Red Drum (Beatz), and Shoki.
