RichGirl [Shelved]

RichGirl is the self-titled debut album from the vocal group, signed to Jive/RCA in 2009. The album saw the release of a promotional-single titled “24” featuring Bun B. and two official singles, “He Ain’t Wit Me Now (Tho)” and “Swagger Right”. Sevyn described the album as “motivational, empowering, fun and honest”. The girls wrote several songs on the album and did their own vocal arrangements, although Lyndriette said they “didn’t get an opportunity to write as much as we all liked only because it was a little rushed, and the label was pushing us to get it done”. In addition to executive producer Rich Harrison, the group also had sessions with Bryan-Michael Cox, The Underdogs, Dre & Vidal, KP and Malay,StarGate, Ester Dean, Chris Brown and Ne-Yo. As they continued work on their debut album, the group were an opening act for Beyoncé on her I Am … Tour. They performed a 15-minute set, which included their single, “He Ain’t wit Me Now (Tho)”, snippets from their debut album and a cover of “Over the Rainbow”. On September 9, 2009, RichGirl released a free EP including lead single “He Ain’t Wit Me Now (Tho)” and promo singles “24’s” and “Swagger Right”, along with snippets of “Back 2 Tha Club” and “Millionaire”. The groups' mixtape Fall in Love with RichGirl was released on Valentine’s Day, 2011, the set included cover songs as well as original material from their debut LP. On October 7, 2011, RCA Music Group announced it was disbanding Jive Records along with Arista Records and J Records. With the shutdown, the group and several other acts were dropped from their parent label.
