The Further Adventures of Lord Quas - Quasimoto
The Further Adventures of Lord Quas

Five years after making his debut on the underground classic The Unseen, Madlib’s mushroom-fueled alter ego Quasimoto returns. Lord Quas is most notable for high-pitched vocals. To create this effect, he takes his beats and slows them down considerably before rapping on them. Then after he’s recorded his vocals, he puts the song back to its original BPM. While The Unseen featured more traditional boom bap production, Madlib’s beats are much weirder here on The Further Adventures with more influence from west coast funk and electronic music. The 2005 Quasimoto album was accepted well and continued the Quasimoto tradition of using vocal samples from Melvin Van Peebles.
