Young Jefe - Shy Glizzy
Young Jefe

Washington, DC rapper Shy Glizzy follows up on his 2013 Law 2 mixtape, with Young Jefe. The DJ Bigga Rankin-hosted mixtape truly embodies Glizzy’s signature Washingtonian trap sound with heavy-hitting popular tracks like “White Girl” and “Awwsome.” Despite the heavy influence from Atlanta artists like PeeWee Longway, Young Scooter, and producer Zaytoven, Glizzy continues to find a way to put on his own Glizzy Gang associates. Producer EA Glizzy and rapper 3 Glizzy accentuate the DC-trap sub genre that Glizzy has been pioneering since the dawn of the twenty-ten decade. In an interview with Complex, Glizzy had this to say about Young Jefe and his sound: I’m the D.C. sound. I’m creating it right now through this tape. None of my songs sound the same. None of them…People will know the king of D.C…Nobody dropping records like I’m dropping except for Wale, and that’s different. The success of Young Jefe has earned Glizzy notoriety far beyond his previously DMV-dominated fanbase. “Awwsome,” which peaked at #33 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, was remixed by established artists 2 Chainz and A$AP Rocky.
