Inspired by lead singer Chris Martin’s troubled relationship with then-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, Ghost Stories is an enigmatic, somber reflection on hope and loss, produced by British alternative rock band Coldplay. The band’s third concept album after X&Y and Mylo Xyloto, it follows a narrative centered around a dramatic breakup painted through a mostly ambient soundscape and often depressing lyricism culminating in an upbeat and celebratory finale.
