Gucci Boy

One of the names that circles in the Houston Underground scene is none-other than Gucci Boy, the super-producer, singer-songwriter & rapper with his super group DGB2001, a group that spans it’s sound to be nothing but digital “4ever”. Born Brandon Lee Resendez, Brandon was only 12 when he tampered with DJ programs and discovered his love of music. He later discovered Soundcloud and was exposed to the early internet artists such as Yung Lean, Mac Miller, Bladee, Lil Soda Boi, Dylan Brady & Houston Native, Travis Scott. He began to release tracks under the name until 2017 where he experienced his first hit, Facetime, surpassing 50,000 streams on Soundcloud. Thereafter he began to release music under his label (same as his group name) DGB2001 with the help of Kobalt Music Group and Warner Music Group. With so much success ahead of Gucci Boy, it came with it’s hardships also. Gucci has always been open about his suicidal tendencies, addiction, relationships and insecurities in his music, it became an outlet to express his pain and show he isn’t invincible, just human.
