Lakim Shabazz is an American rapper from Newark, New Jersey, who emerged in the late 1980s as a prominent figure in the hip-hop scene. Known for his Afrocentric lyrics, Shabazz released his debut album Pure Righteousness in 1988 and followed it with The Lost Tribe of Shabazz in 1990. He was also a member of the hip-hop collective The Flavor Unit, alongside other notable artists such as Queen Latifah and Apache. The original version of the crew centered on producer The 45 King.
